This is FAR from the full version! It skips the entire part where Lord Barnard kills Matty Groves. From Paul Clayton's version: Get up, get up, little Matty Groves Get up as quick as you can. At which point Lord Barnard chops her head off "and he stove it against the wall." Nice little story.

What a great song sung so well with a lovely clear voice. I thought Itwas an Irish song with her slight accent and a young man playing the Bodhran in a brief shot. It oribnated in the North of England in the 17th Century. What a beautiful giri is Ellen, and very talented in the theatre .

It's one of my favourite renditions of the song but it's a shame they had to cut out some of the key verses.

I just binged on Gently and simply fell in love with this and there was another in the same episode but I don't know what it is.."it's all over now "?
